Puncak

In the mountains between Bandung and Bogor is the lovely Puncak, an area synonymous woth cool, misty mountains. Here there are leisurely trails across hills and valleys, ahigh altitude preserve, a tea estate, mountain climbing and a drive-through zoo. But above all there is a wide variety of hotels nestled on the hills. Puncak (Summit) has commonly come to refer to the area on both sides of the summit (1,500 m), from Cianjur east of it to just above Bogor west of it. Refer to “The Padalarang and Rajamandala Area” for points of interest along the way.

Domas Crater (Kawah Domas) Boiling Springs

A favorite spot of volcanic activity to visit is the Domas Crater, located about a kilometer down the northeastern slope. A wide, well marked stairway leads down from the car park at Kawah Ratu. The walk takes about thirty minutes.

Lake Bagendit

Not far from Cangkuang Temple and just 10 km north of Garut is the small Lake Bagendit (Situ Bagendit). It i situated on the kind of tranquil country-side that is so typical of this area.

Cangkuang Temple

Dating back to Java's Hindu periode, the Cangkuang Temple is one of West Java's oldest monuments. Beautifully situated near Leles north of Garut, Cangkuang is a magical visit back to old Sundanese roots.

Green Canyon

A half day river trip to Green Canyon offers an adventurous experience, westward to Cijulang village (15 km from Pangandaran).

Pananjung Nature Reserve

On the trip to Pangandaran beach, don't miss to visit Pananjung Nature Reserve. The area covers some 300 sq.ha. comprising hundred-of years-old trees, underground caves with talactites and stalagmites, remains of the World War II bunkers and wildlife.

Pangandaran Beach Resort

One of the West Java' beautiful beach resort lie on the south coast just west of the boundary between Wet Java and Central Java.

Kampung Naga

The splendidly cenic highway from Garut, east to Tasikmalaya snakes through the mountains along the winding course of the Ciwulan river. Snug againts the Ciwulan's banks lies tiny Kampung Naga, one of the most beautiful and most traditional villages in West Java.
